Sad News.
Lemon Rock Is Closing Down.
Unfortunately, we are having to shut down Lemon Rock at the end of May 2026.
Two reasons for this:
1. Our host for the radio station had included licensing costs in the total cost of hosting but the UK licensing people have insisted on separate payment for broadcasting to the UK. We don't have sponsors or advertising and therefore are not able to bear the burden of additional monthly expenditure. Therefore from June 1st we are unable to broadcast to the UK. As we are based in the UK, we see little point in continuing the station if we can't broadcast to our home nations.
2. Audience numbers are far lower than our expectations after being on air for 8 months. It is not anticipated that this will change any time soon, so we have decided to call it a day.
The station will continue to run on auto (no live shows) until the end of May whereupon it will cease broadcasting unless something drastic changes. (never say never)
We would like to truly thank listeners for their support through listening to the station. Our aim was to bring new bands and music to you and we hope that has been achieved for some at least.
SO, with heavy heart, we bid you farewell.....for now.
